Reduce soil temperatures, prevent bolting and bitterness of heat-sensitive crops like lettuce and spinach, and protect pepper and eggplant fruits from sun damage. UV-stabilized black polyethylene is naturally rot and mildew-resistant. This lockstitch knitted cloth is lightweight with improved ventilation and water permeation when compared to woven shade cloth, and can be cut without unraveling. Use 30% shade cloth with solanaceous crops in areas with extremely hot summers, and for cold-loving crops like lettuce, spinach, and brassicas in northern growing zones. Blocks 30% light transmission to crops. 20′ width is ideal for use on high tunnels. 5–7 year lifespan. NOTE: Always hang shade cloth above the plants to provide adequate ventilation so heat does not build up beneath. Please allow 7–10 days for delivery.
